ADC Urges Candidates to Focus on Issue-Based Campaigns

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on its governorship candidates nationwide to resist provocation, avoid political violence and hate speech, and concentrate their campaigns on issues affecting Nigerians. This directive was announced by Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary, following a meeting led by the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark, with candidates at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

The meeting aimed to address issues stemming from the recent governorship primaries and strategize for the 2027 elections. Abdullahi noted that disagreements from the primaries had strained relationships among party members, making reconciliation essential.

Consequently, the ADC plans to form a National Reconciliation Committee to foster unity among members. Additionally, candidates were instructed to conduct campaigns that reflect the ADC's vision, including a proposal to reintroduce a fuel subsidy to alleviate living costs, which is central to the party's political message.
