Ghanaian Community Seeks Tinubu, Mahama's Help in Abuja

The Ghanaian community in Nigeria, represented by the Ghanaian Association in Nigeria (NAGHACON), has called for intervention from Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ghanaian President John Mahama regarding a dispute over River Park Estate in Abuja. The community raised alarms about ongoing structural disruptions and safety concerns allegedly targeting Jonah Capital, a Ghanaian-owned firm involved in the estate.

NAGHACON emphasized the need for diplomatic action to ensure the rule of law prevails and to allow the courts to determine ownership matters. The association expressed fears that aggressive actions against prominent Ghanaian businesses could escalate tensions and lead to wider regional unrest.

They noted a distinct pattern of targeting Jonah Capital amid ongoing legal and administrative hurdles faced by the company. The association's leadership conducted assessments of the estate, observing significant damage and the presence of armed policemen allegedly escorting individuals involved in the dispute.

NAGHACON has previously sought federal intervention to clarify ownership issues related to the estate.
