Ghanaian Community Appeals for Intervention in Estate Dispute

Tensions are rising over a dispute involving River Park Estate in Abuja, leading the Nigerian Association of Ghanaian Communities (NAGHACON) to appeal to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ghanaian President John Mahama for intervention. The association, representing Ghanaian citizens across Nigeria, expressed concerns about safety and potential violence against Ghanaian businesses linked to Jonah Capital, which has faced legal and administrative hurdles over the past year.

NAGHACON's leadership, including President Lukman Tetteh and General Secretary Edward Domf, conducted assessments of the estate and noted a distinct pattern of targeting Jonah Capital amidst ongoing operations by other companies in the area. The association highlighted previous police investigations and legal challenges faced by Jonah Capital, emphasizing the need for diplomatic resolution to prevent escalation.

They urged both presidents to ensure safety for Ghanaian nationals and allow the judicial process to take its course regarding the ownership dispute.
