Police Enforce Movement Restriction for Ahoada East By-Election

The Nigeria Police Force announced a six-hour movement restriction in Ahoada East and Khana local government areas, effective from 12 noon to 6 PM on Saturday, as part of measures to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process during the state house assembly by-election. CSP Grace Iring Koko disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday, emphasizing that adequate security arrangements have been made to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the polls.

The police command has deployed a significant number of security personnel across the two local government areas to deter electoral violence and criminal activities that could undermine the credibility of the election. The statement urged residents in the affected areas to comply strictly with the movement restriction and conduct themselves peacefully.

Additionally, the police warned all political parties and candidates to adhere to the provisions of the electoral act and cautioned against any acts of violence.
