Fubara Allies Join Wike's Coalition, Sparking Political Crisis

Darlington Orji, a former Senior Special Assistant to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and former Commissioner for Transport Collin Onunwo have reportedly joined the Rainbow Coalition, a bipartisan political alliance led by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This coalition aims to support the re-election of Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The departure of Orji and Onunwo from Fubara's camp follows the announcement of the withdrawal of Kingsley Chinda from the governorship race, which has raised concerns about the stability of Fubara's political alliances. The situation indicates the beginning of a protracted political crisis in Rivers State, as expressed by Fubara's allies.

Darlington Orji shared a photo on his Facebook page indicating the return of coalition members to their families.
