Fubara Backs Tinubu, Joins Rainbow Coalition for 2027

On Tuesday, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition, led by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, in preparation for the 2027 general elections. During the groundbreaking ceremony for the Riven Medical Facility, Fubara called for unity among his supporters, urging them to support all candidates from the coalition.

He stated, “I am supporting our Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our President, and he is the one we are supporting.” Fubara dismissed any suggestions to delay joining the coalition, asserting that he had returned to the political family and emphasized the importance of peace in Rivers State.

He ruled out any actions that could reignite political tensions, stating, “I am not party to anything that will bring any form of disunity in this state.” This declaration follows Fubara's withdrawal from the 2027 governorship race, which was part of a political peace agreement with Wike. Fubara also reaffirmed his commitment to the Riven Medical Facility project, which aims to promote industrialization and job creation in Rivers State.
