Rivers Women Support Fubara's Peace Advocacy and Elections

On Thursday, during the August praise and thanksgiving service at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt, the group Rivers Women Unite for SIM expressed their support for Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara’s peace advocacy. The convener, Amaopuorubo Sotonye Toby Fulton, emphasized the importance of peace for development and called on political leaders to support efforts aimed at consolidating lasting peace in the state.

Fulton commended Governor Fubara for his leadership and the administration's investments in infrastructure, which are enhancing connectivity and stimulating economic activities. She also acknowledged the peace initiatives led by Governor Fubara and Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister.

Fulton urged political actors to prioritize the collective interest of Rivers State over personal ambitions. Additionally, Dr. Priye Oarhe led prayers for enduring peace and encouraged the populace, particularly women and youths, to obtain their permanent voters cards to participate effectively in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
