RMAFC Completes Revenue Formula and Remuneration Review

Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, OFR, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), announced during a session with the Nigerian Guild of Editors in Lagos that the Commission has completed a comprehensive review of Nigeria’s Revenue Allocation Formula and the remuneration for political, public, and judicial office holders. Both processes are now at advanced stages of consideration by relevant authorities.

Dr. Shehu emphasized significant fiscal reforms, including improved data integrity and equitable revenue distribution across government tiers. He noted the Commission's intensified monitoring of oil and gas production data, resolving long-standing oil well attribution issues, such as reallocating 17 oil wells from Imo State to Rivers State per a Supreme Court judgment.

RMAFC has also collaborated with institutions like NUPRC and NNPCL to enhance revenue monitoring. Additionally, Dr. Shehu confirmed the completion of the Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 2025, and that an executive bill for the Political and Public Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 2026, is expected to be sent to the National Assembly.
