RMAFC and House Committee Address Nigeria's Economic Issues

The Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), in collaboration with the House Committee on Finance, organized a stakeholders strategic retreat in Lagos to tackle Nigeria's macroeconomic challenges. The retreat focused on issues such as food inflation, which stands at 17.52 percent year-on-year, and the over-dependence on oil revenue.

James Faleke, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, stated that every Naira mobilized must positively impact Nigerians. He highlighted that federal revenue has increased from $29.07 trillion to $88.91 trillion as of 2025, with all states experiencing positive growth in allocations.

Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, Chairman of RMAFC, represented by Kolawole Daniel Abimbola, emphasized the necessity of sustainable development and efficient public revenue use for infrastructure and social services.

The retreat aimed to identify challenges and enhance revenue performance through better compliance and resource allocation strategies.
