Rodri Chooses Barcelona Over Real Madrid for New Challenge
Rodri, a Spanish midfielder, explained his decision to leave Manchester City for FC Barcelona, opting against Real Madrid, a 15-time Champions League winner. He stated that his choice was influenced by the sporting project at Barcelona and the new generation emerging under coach Hansi Flick.
Rodri, 30, indicated that his move was a process of recognizing the end of his time at Manchester City and seeking a new challenge. He emphasized that his decisions are based on sporting considerations, focusing on where he can win, be happy, and develop as a player.
While he acknowledged being treated well by Real Madrid, he ultimately felt more enthusiasm for Barcelona's competitive team and prospects. Rodri credited Deco and Flick for their roles in convincing him to join Barcelona, clarifying that his decision was not motivated by politics or financial incentives.
