Amobi Royal Family Seeks Police Protection in Anambra

The Amobi royal family, led by Chief Kene Amobi, has sought protection from the Nigeria Police due to ongoing intimidation and threats from thugs allegedly supported by certain community leaders in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State. Chief Amobi expressed that the family lives in fear, unable to sleep at night due to the threats and criminal activities within the community.

They have attempted to improve security by installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, but these have been vandalized. Family member Dr.

Odinaka Amabi, residing in New York, highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that the community cannot voice their concerns due to fear of retaliation. Despite reporting these issues to the police, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, did not provide information on the matter, raising concerns about the effectiveness of law enforcement in addressing their plight.
