Safety First: Ogun Ends Free Entry To Olumo Rock

The Ogun State Government has announced the end of the free entry initiative at Olumo Rock Tourist Complex starting August 23, 2025, to prevent overcrowding and ensure public safety. The Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, emphasized the decision was made to avoid the risk of a stampede due to the overwhelming turnout of visitors since the complex's renovation.

While acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the change, the government assured the public of its commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience at the tourist site. Governor Dapo Abiodun's vision to reposition Olumo Rock as a global tourist destination was highlighted, with the free entry initiative successfully attracting thousands of visitors.

The government urged residents and tourists to appreciate the cultural and historical significance of Olumo Rock while following the normal access procedures post-August 23.
