Mustapha Promises Early Victory Against AbdulRazaq

Saliu Mustapha, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2027 Kwara Central Senatorial race, stated on Channels Television that he would defeat Governor AbdulRazaq before 1 PM on election day. Mustapha, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC), described his move as part of a “rainbow coalition” involving aggrieved stakeholders within the APC.

He emphasized that his defection should not be viewed as a rejection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Mustapha claimed that the coalition includes members of the Otoge Progressives (TOP), the G15 group of APC governorship aspirants, and the party’s elders caucus, who feel alienated by AbdulRazaq's leadership.

He asserted that the coalition chose the PDP as the most suitable platform to challenge the emergence of a new political dynasty in Kwara. Mustapha also dismissed claims of presidential endorsement for Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu as the APC candidate and criticized AbdulRazaq for influencing the governorship selection process.
