Wike: No Role Needed for Tinubu's 2027 Victory

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared that he does not require a position in the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council to assist President Bola Tinubu in winning the 2027 election. Speaking after inspecting ongoing projects in the FCT, Wike asserted that membership in the campaign council does not guarantee electoral success.

His remarks followed the unveiling of the presidential campaign council, which appointed Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General and Hope Uzodimma as secretary. Wike emphasized that political effectiveness in presidential elections is determined by a politician's ability to secure victories in their respective states, local governments, and wards.

He dismissed concerns that not being part of the APC campaign council would hinder political actors from contributing to Tinubu's re-election efforts. Wike noted that his Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State is already executing strategies for Tinubu's second-term campaign, asserting his leadership in the Rivers State and FCT campaigns.
