Sanwo-Olu Allocates Land to 98 Communities in Lagos

On Wednesday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented land allocation letters to 98 communities in the Ito-Omu New Town project area, marking a significant step towards inclusive and orderly development in the Lekki-Epe corridor. The governor stated that the allocation aims to recognize the rights of indigenous communities and secure their future in the state's development agenda.

He highlighted the historical contributions of these communities to the state's economy through various activities such as farming and fishing. Sanwo-Olu noted that consultations with traditional rulers and community leaders began in 2020, leading to a comprehensive plan for the project.

He emphasized that the Ito-Omu New Town Development Plan would integrate various land uses to promote sustainable growth and improve residents' quality of life. The governor assured beneficiaries of ongoing government support and warned against land speculation, urging collaboration with government agencies for orderly development.
