Sanwo-Olu Urges Badagry to Honor Late Monarch's Legacy

On Saturday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu called on the people of Badagry to sustain and protect the legacy of the late Akran of Badagry, Oba De Wheno Aholu Menu Toyi, during a thanksgiving service held at the Methodist Cathedral in Badagry. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described the late traditional ruler as a symbol of unity and a constant figure in the community.

The event was attended by top government officials, including Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and members of the State Executive Council. Sanwo-Olu performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the De Wheno Aholu Menu Toyi Cultural Park, noting that the late monarch left behind a legacy that defined peace and cultural preservation.

He urged residents not to let grief overshadow the achievements of the revered king, who served for nearly nine decades and was recognized for his dedication to the community and cultural identity.
