Yoruba Community Honors Late Oba Olusegun Salau in Abuja

The Yoruba community in Abuja gathered on Saturday at the Cyprian Ekwensi Art and Culture Center to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Oba Olusegun Salau, who served as the chairman of the Yoruba council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The event was organized by Otunba Wasiu Tunwas, the chairman of the planning committee, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries present.

Mr. Sanusi Adeyemi Salau, the son of the deceased, spoke about his father's fulfilling life and urged the Yoruba community to emulate his values. Queen Basirat Olukored Salau, the wife of the late Oba, highlighted his humility and the sacrifices he made for the unity and progress of the Yoruba community in Abuja.

Other notable figures, including Oba Murtal Odunbaku and Oba M Olalekan Lasisi, acknowledged Oba Salau as the first Oba of the Yoruba in the FCT, reinforcing the importance of peace and development among the Yoruba people.
