Saudi Arabia Launches Stopover Transit eVisa for Tourists

Saudi Arabia has introduced a Stopover Transit eVisa scheme, enabling eligible international travellers from over 60 countries to enter the kingdom for short stays of up to 96 hours. This initiative, launched in partnership with Saudi airline Saudia and the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), allows travellers to explore the country during layovers.
The eVisa remains valid for 90 days from the date of approval. Eligibility extends to citizens and residents of more than 60 countries, as well as those holding valid tourist visas from GCC member states, the United Kingdom, or any Schengen area country, regardless of nationality.
To obtain the eVisa, travellers must select the Transit eVisa option when booking with Saudia and complete the required details. The process is fully digital, with no need to visit an embassy or consulate, and the eVisa is delivered instantly upon successful verification.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's broader efforts to diversify its economy and attract more international visitors.
