SCAN to Honor Nigerian Dockworkers on May 28, 2026

The Ship Correspondents Association of Nigeria (SCAN) has announced the upcoming Dockworkers Day, scheduled for May 28, 2026, at Rockview Hotel in Apapa, Lagos. This event aims to honor the tireless efforts and contributions of Nigerian dockworkers.

The celebration will emphasize the importance of environmentally friendly practices and modern technology in Nigeria's seaports, reflecting a commitment to sustainability within the maritime industry. The theme for the event is "Green Port: Sustainable Practices in Dockwork," which will guide discussions among major stakeholders in the maritime sector, including industry leaders, policymakers, and environmental advocates.

The event will feature prominent speakers such as Alhaji Aminu Umar, the President of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, and Comrade Adewal Adeyanju, the Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress.
