PDP Affirms Leadership Amid Supreme Court Ruling

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has asserted that Abdulrahman Mohammed, the National Chairman, and Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary, continue to lead the party, following a Supreme Court judgment on April 30, 2026. The PDP criticized a faction led by Tanimu Turaki for claiming a leadership vacuum, labeling these assertions as baseless and misleading.

The Supreme Court had previously dismissed an appeal from the Turaki faction regarding a convention held in Ibadan on November 15-16, which was found to violate a restraining order. The PDP emphasized that the court's ruling did not address any suspensions or expulsions of party officials, thus maintaining that the party's leadership structure remains intact and fully operational.

The party also condemned any attempts by Adolphu Wabara, whose tenure as Chairman of the Board of Trustees has expired, to destabilize the party and urged the public to disregard such claims as propaganda.
