Security Forces Rescue 10 NYSC Members in Kogi Forest

Ten members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) were rescued from Egume Forest in Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State, through a coordinated operation by security agencies. The Kogi State Police Command announced this on Monday via a statement from Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat.

The operation involved personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, military, Department of State Services (DSS), and other auxiliary security forces. The police indicated that the rescue was part of an intelligence-driven operation aimed at securing the safe recovery of the abducted corps members and dismantling criminal elements in the area.

The operation remains ongoing as efforts continue to locate and rescue other potential victims still held by the kidnappers. The Commissioner of Police for Kogi State commended the involved personnel for their gallantry and professionalism, while also appreciating community members for their timely information.

The police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
