Senate Identifies Fallen Security Personnel in Oyo Rescue

The Nigerian Senate disclosed that four security personnel were killed and injured during a rescue operation aimed at freeing abducted students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. The operation, which led to the successful rescue of 56 captives, was commended by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, who emphasized the need for the federal government to continue military operations against kidnappers and terrorists.

President Bola Tinubu was praised for his leadership in directing military efforts to secure the unconditional release of victims. The Senate also called for prompt payment of death benefits, insurance claims, and pensions to the families of the fallen personnel.

The operation, which occurred over 50 days, resulted in the arrest of eight suspects and the neutralization of others. The Senate urged the government to enhance the welfare of security personnel and improve intelligence capabilities to combat criminal activities effectively.
