Adeleke Launches N500m Fund for Election Violence Victims

On Wednesday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke announced a N500 million endowment fund for victims of violence related to the upcoming 2026 governorship election. This announcement followed his receipt of the Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after winning the August 15 governorship election.

The fund aims to assist families impacted by pre-election violence and provide educational support for children who lost parents in these incidents. Olalekan Badmus, Adeleke's Special Assistant on Digital Media, shared that the fund honors those who lost their lives during this period.

Additionally, the Adeleke family will offer full scholarships for affected children up to university level, irrespective of political affiliation. A special committee led by Rt.

Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, will verify and compile the list of beneficiaries. Adeleke emphasized that the initiative is humanitarian and not politically motivated, stating that no eligible victim would be excluded based on political or social status.
