N16.8bn Kwalkwalawa-Binji Road Project Launched in Sokoto

Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha Gusau flagged off the construction of the ₦16.8 billion, 41.27-kilometre University Gate Kwalkwalawa–Inname–Binji Road in Sokoto State. The project is being implemented through a partnership involving the Sokoto State Government, the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), SCALE-UP, and the World Bank.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu stated that the road will traverse parts of Wamakko and Binji Local Government Areas, connecting several communities and improving access to markets, schools, healthcare facilities, and essential services. The project aims to facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, reduce transportation difficulties, and enhance mobility.

It includes road works, hydraulic structures, asphaltic wearing course, surface dressing, culverts, and road furniture. Governor Aliyu commended all professionals involved and urged cooperation from benefiting communities.

He acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's support for infrastructure development in Sokoto State, particularly for federal projects. Senator Nasiha emphasized the project's significance for socio-economic development in the communities.
