Wamakko Launches N11.84bn Sokoto Road Project

On [date not specified], Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State and former Governor, officially launched the Gidanmadi–Binji–Gande road project, valued at N11,836,593,885.14.

This 35.7-kilometer project is part of the ongoing transformation efforts in Sokoto State under Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto's administration, marking the third anniversary of his governance. The project is a collaboration between the Sokoto State Government and the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), funded by the World Bank.

The road will traverse several communities and includes the construction of hydraulic structures, an asphaltic wearing course, and road furniture to ensure durability and safety. Governor Ahmed Aliyu emphasized the project's importance for improving transportation for farmers and enhancing access to healthcare and education.

He urged the project team to adhere to specifications and timelines, reaffirming his commitment to people-oriented projects across the state and expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for federal support.
