Senator Ningi Resigns from PDP Amid Leadership Crisis

Senator Ningi has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as indicated in a resignation letter addressed to the PDP chairman. Ningi, who has been a member of the party since 1998, has served in various capacities, including two terms as a member of the House of Representatives and two terms as a senator of the Federal Republic.

He described the PDP as once the largest political party in Africa, emphasizing its strong ideological foundation and democratic values that enabled participatory governance. However, he expressed concern over the current internal leadership crises, factional divisions, and competing interests within the party, which he believes have weakened its unity and structure.

Ningi stated that the decision to leave the PDP comes at a difficult moment in his political career but expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his journey. He plans to continue his political career outside the PDP and extended his best regards to the party.
