Serena Williams Rumored to Make Tennis Comeback

Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, has been linked to a potential comeback in professional tennis, despite her previous statements downplaying the idea. The speculation intensified following comments from journalist Ben Rothenberg.

Williams has not officially announced any plans to compete but is subject to the Women's Tennis Association's regulations, including a compulsory anti-doping test pool. She is currently in a six-month re-entry period that concludes on February 22, which will legally permit her to participate in competitions again.

Williams could potentially return to play in tournaments such as Indian Wells and Miami in March, with further participation in grass court events later in the season, including Madrid, Rome, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon. Reports suggest she may aim for a comeback as far out as August 2025, when she could attempt to reinstate herself for the US Open, having previously quit the test pool after her retirement in 2022.
