SGF Akum Urges Media to Correctly Address President Tinubu

On May 7, 2026, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Akum, expressed concerns regarding the frequent misnaming of President Bola Tinubu by various media organizations. In a statement, he urged these organizations to verify official titles to avoid public embarrassment.

Akum stressed the importance of using the correct appellation for the President, highlighting that lapses in this regard should be avoided through proper verification from appropriate sources. Meanwhile, Akum noted that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that President Tinubu requires time to deliver on his promises to the nation.

He referenced a television appearance where it was asserted that Tinubu's administration is already making positive changes to Nigeria's economic situation, urging Nigerians to support the President as he works to improve the economy.
