Umahi Addresses Nurse's Death, Plans Legal Action

David Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State, spoke out regarding the death of a nurse in his house, describing her as a dedicated staff member at the Federal University Teaching Hospital Dufuth, where she worked closely for three years. Umahi announced that he would instruct his lawyer to initiate legal action against individuals spreading false and defamatory reports about the circumstances of her death.

He explained that the nurse's family had sought medical help after they were unable to open her door immediately. Despite efforts to revive her at the hospital, she did not survive.

Umahi emphasized the importance of reporting the matter to the police and conducting an autopsy with the consent of the deceased's parents to determine the cause of death. He condemned the misinformation surrounding the incident and reaffirmed his commitment to defending the reputation of individuals involved, stating that falsehoods would not be tolerated.
