Shettima Represents Nigeria at ECOWAS Summit in Sierra Leone

On Sunday, Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 69th ordinary session of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) summit in Freetown, Sierra Leone. This information was disclosed in a statement issued by Stanlei Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communication.

The summit, hosted by Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio, is expected to focus on key policy decisions and strategic resolutions aimed at reaffirming collective commitments to peace, democracy, and economic growth in the region. The ECOWAS mid-year statutory meeting will gather heads of state, governors, ministers, and senior officials to advance common priorities in security, democratic governance, economic integration, trade, and sustainable development.

Vice President Shettima is set to return to Abuja following his engagements at the summit, which aims to strengthen regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges amid evolving political and economic dynamics in the sub-region.
