Shettima Commends NAHCON for Successful 2026 Hajj Operations

Vice President Kashim Shettima commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for its enhanced operations that led to significant successes during the 2026 Hajj. He made these remarks in Abuja while receiving the comprehensive 2026 Hajj operations report from NAHCON's board, chaired by Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf.

Shettima attributed the successful exercise to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and timely interventions, stating, “We want to thank him for the support that culminated in such a highly successful and seamless operation.” He praised the NAHCON chairman for his professionalism and urged the board to maintain their momentum. Shettima emphasized the importance of government involvement in ensuring smooth operations, while Yusuf acknowledged the executive support from both the President and Vice President, which helped alleviate financial burdens on pilgrims amid global economic challenges.

Yusuf noted that NAHCON's effective collaboration and management ensured that Nigerian pilgrims were treated with dignity throughout the process.
