Shettima Engages Nigerians Abroad to Support Economic Reforms

Senator Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, addressed Nigerians in the diaspora during an interactive session at the Nigeria House in New York. He called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration in its efforts to transform Nigeria's economy, emphasizing the importance of the diaspora community as a vital resource.

Shettima noted that the administration is focused on key sectors such as education, health, science and technology, and agriculture. He highlighted the administration's reforms, which have led to an increase in foreign reserves from $3.9 billion to over $55 billion and a 4.45% growth in the last quarter.

The Vice President also mentioned the introduction of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, which has provided N125 billion to over 1.29 million Nigerian students in tertiary institutions. He reassured the diaspora that Nigeria is open for business and is on a path of sustained growth.
