SICL Celebrates 40 Years of Maritime Leadership in Nigeria

SICL, an indigenous maritime offshore logistics company, is set to commemorate its 40th anniversary with a week-long program from July 4 to July 10, 2026. The celebration will be themed "Transforming Lives" and will gather policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and stakeholders to reflect on the company's journey and explore the future of indigenous participation in Nigeria's maritime industry.

The program will begin with a thanksgiving service and include various community activities, culminating in a high-level maritime symposium on July 10, focusing on the theme "Anchoring Resilience: 40 Years of Private Indigenous Initiatives Shaping Nigeria's Maritime Future." Founded in 1986 by maritime entrepreneur Engr. Greg Ogbeifun, SICL has expanded its fleet to 11 offshore support vessels and has successfully executed 35 offshore marine contracts since 2010.

The company emphasizes its commitment to developing Nigerian maritime talent through its cadetship program, training 100 Nigerian cadets and providing them with practical sea time experience.
