NSW Portal Sees Over 39,000 Trade Applications in 8 Weeks

The National Single Window (NSW) portal has successfully recorded 39,039 trade applications within eight weeks of its launch, as reported by Tola Fakolad, the Director of the NSW Secretariat, during a press briefing in Lagos. The platform went live on March 27, 2026, and has shown a growing reliance on its submission process for trade-related licenses, permits, and certificates.

The breakdown of applications includes 30,937 from the Standards Organization of Nigeria and 7,942 from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). Additionally, the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency recorded 138 applications, while the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service received 22 applications.

A total of 7,567 registered users have been onboarded onto the NSW platform, including 6,935 importers and 359 clearing agents. Training sessions for private sector stakeholders commenced in February 2026, with 2,990 participants trained.

The second phase of the rollout is set to begin in June, focusing on finalizing the manifest submission process for airlines and shipping lines.
