Skypixel Launches Nigeria's First Drone Light Show

Skypixel officially launched Nigeria's first large-scale drone light show on March 22, 2026, at the Lagos Polo Club in Ikoyi, featuring a fleet of 1,000 drones. The show utilized advanced technology, including a real-time kinematic positioning system, to ensure precise and stable synchronization during the flight.

Founder and CEO Rotimi Makanujola highlighted the innovative shift in entertainment technology, noting that drone shows provide a more dynamic experience compared to traditional fireworks, which pose safety and environmental concerns. The drones were programmed to follow unique trajectories to eliminate mid-air collisions, allowing for complex choreographies that could display logos, celebratory messages, and intricate animations.

The company operates under the approval of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and has integrated multiple fail-safe mechanisms, including geofencing technology. Skypixel aims to utilize drone technology across various sectors, including agriculture and advertising, particularly during festive periods like Ramadan and Easter.
