Sokoto's Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala Wins Best Education Award

Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala, the Sokoto State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, has been selected to receive the Award of Excellence as the Best Commissioner for Education in the North West Geopolitical Zone. This prestigious recognition is based on recommendations from the National Award Committee, acknowledging Prof. Ala’s exemplary leadership and significant contributions to education in Sokoto State and the North West zone.

The award ceremony is scheduled for August 20, 2026, during the grand finale of the 2026 Democracy Day Anniversary President Inter Senior Secondary School Debate Championship, which will take place at the Rivers State Ministry of Education in Port Harcourt. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, will present the award, with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State serving as the chief host.

The notification of the award was signed by Hon. Muhammad Usman, Chairman of the National Advisory Board of President School Debate Nigeria (PSDN). The Sokoto State Ministry of Education congratulated Prof. Ala on this recognition and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing quality education.
