Sokoto's Prof. Ala Wins North-west Best Education Award

Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala, serving as the Sokoto State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, has been selected to receive the Award of Excellence as the Best Commissioner for Education in the North-west geopolitical zone. This prestigious recognition is based on recommendations from the National Award Committee, acknowledging Prof. Ala’s exemplary leadership, dedication, and significant contributions to advancing education in Sokoto State and the North-west zone.

The award ceremony is scheduled for August 20, 2026, during the grand finale of the 2026 Democracy Day Anniversary President Inter Senior Secondary School Debate Championship, which will take place at the Rivers State Ministry of Education in Port Harcourt. Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, will present the award.

The notification regarding the award was signed by Hon. Muhammad Usman, Chairman of the National Advisory Board of the President School Debate Nigeria (PSDN).
