Sokoto Assembly Confirms Two Commissioner-Nominees

On Thursday, the Sokoto State House of Assembly confirmed the appointments of two commissioner-nominees, Alhaji Nura Tangaza and Dr. Bashir Achida.

The confirmation occurred during a plenary session where Bello Idris, a major leader from the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Gwadabawa North, moved the motion for their approval. The nominees were described as individuals of proven integrity who would contribute to the administration's efforts in delivering good governance in the state.

Following the screening committee's recommendations, the entire house, led by Speaker Tukur Bala, conducted a voice vote that resulted in unanimous approval for both nominees to join the Sokoto State Executive Council. Additionally, the assembly approved the legislative calendar for the fourth session of the 10th assembly, covering from June 23, 2026, to May 27, 2027, ensuring compliance with Section 104 of the constitution.
