Sokoto Government Commits to Legal Advancement and Growth

The Sokoto State government, under the leadership of Governor Ahm Aliyu, has committed to promoting intellectual growth and strengthening legal frameworks. This pledge was made during the presentation of a book titled "Military Law in Nigeria: A Quick Reference Guide for Practice and Procedure," edited by Barrister Muhammad Bello Goronyo.

The event took place at the Army Command Mess in Sokoto and emphasized the importance of knowledge and education as pillars for sustainable development. Governor Ahm Aliyu, represented by Deputy Idri Moham Gobir, urged stakeholders from the legal profession, security agencies, and academic institutions to effectively utilize the book, which provides a significant legal framework for governance and accountability within the armed forces while ensuring alignment with democratic principles and the rule of law.

The book, comprising 300 pages and eight chapters, was reviewed by Professor Ahmad Adamu from the Nigerian Defence Academy, who described it as a valuable tool for advancing legal practice in Nigeria.
