ADC Candidate Calls for Action on Sokoto Killings

Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Sokoto State, has urged for stronger measures to address the ongoing killings and mass abductions in Rabah Local Government Area. In a statement released by his media aide, Aminu Abdullahi, on Tuesday, Dan’iya condemned the recent violence, particularly the attack on Tofa community on Sunday, which left at least 10 people dead and around 40 others abducted.

He criticized the APC governments for not recognizing the serious security emergency in Sokoto, highlighting the disconnect between government assurances and the actual security situation faced by rural residents. Dan’iya called for enhanced security measures, intelligence operations, and a sustained presence of security personnel in vulnerable communities.

He emphasized that the people of Rabah require more than just press statements; they need effective security interventions to ensure their safety and peace of mind.
