Soldiers Arrest Six Suspected Oil Bunkerers in Lagos

Troops of the 65 Battalion of the Nigerian Army arrested six suspected oil bunkerers in the Orile General Area of Lagos State. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel S.

Adeojo and was based on credible intelligence. According to Lieutenant Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 81 Division Nigerian Army, the raid led to the recovery of four trucks, one pumping machine, and assorted pipes and drums allegedly used for illegal bunkering operations.

The suspects and the recovered items were handed over to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for further investigation. Major General Adebayo Babalola, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, commended the troops for their successful operation and urged them to continue their offensive against economic sabotage and other criminal activities within their area of responsibility.

This operation is part of the army's ongoing efforts to combat illegal oil bunkering and strengthen security.
