Soldiers Eliminate Two Lakurawa Terrorists in Kebbi

On June 27, 2026, soldiers from the Troop Sector 2 Joint Task Force, part of Operation Fansan Yamma, engaged and killed two suspected Lakurawa terrorists in the Sabarumawa area of Kebbi State. The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding a planned attack on the community.

Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja disclosed that troops set an ambush along the route the suspects were expected to approach, leading to a fierce gun battle where the soldiers overpowered the terrorists. Following the encounter, the troops conducted a search of the area, recovering weapons including an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, and 143 rounds of ammunition, as well as a motorcycle.

This operation is part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and improve security across Nigeria's northwest region, reaffirming the commitment to protect lives and property.
