Soldiers Neutralize Terrorists, Rescue Kidnap Victims in Benue

On July 16 and 17, 2023, troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke conducted an operation in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State, where they neutralized two suspected terrorists and rescued three kidnap victims. The operation, which began at 3:00 AM, involved collaboration with the Benue State Civil Protection Guard.

The rescued victims were identified as Mr. Nyityo Abraham, a teacher; Mr.

Uzuegwu Chukwuemeka, a spare parts dealer; and Mr. Terhemb Tavarshima, a farmer.

During the operation, troops engaged in fierce gun battles with the criminals, leading to the recovery of significant military equipment, including an AK-47 rifle, a G3 rifle with an optic sight, a pistol, and various ammunition. Maj.

Gen. Mose Gara commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism, reaffirming the determination to eliminate terrorist elements in the region.
