Troops Rescue 25 Kidnap Victims in Katsina, Zamfara

On Thursday, troops from the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued 25 kidnapped victims during separate operations in Katsina and Zamfara states. In Katsina State, Sector 1 troops conducted a night patrol in Sabuwa Local Government Area, where they engaged terrorists, leading to the rescue of two victims abducted along the Dandume–Damari Road.
The troops also recovered two motorcycles belonging to the fleeing terrorists. In a separate operation in Zamfara State, Sector 2 troops rescued 23 civilians, comprising three males and 20 females, during a fighting patrol on the outskirts of Wuya Town in Anka Local Government Area.
These victims had been abducted from Gummi Local Government Area and had spent approximately three weeks in captivity. Following their rescue, the victims were evacuated for medical attention and further debriefing.
Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, stated that these operations reflect the troops' commitment to protecting civilians and disrupting terrorist activities in the region.
