Bandits Kill 5, Injure 3 in Girkau Ward Attack

In a recent attack by armed bandits in Girkau Ward, no fewer than five persons were killed, and three others sustained injuries. The state police spokesperson, Ahmed Rufai, reported that the bandits invaded Girkau and surrounding communities, moving through multiple areas and killing one person each in Dukura and Jabga.

The attackers remained in the Girkau community for several hours, stealing a significant number of cattle. Additionally, several residents, including young boys and girls, were abducted during the raid, and a vigilante member was also taken after being stripped of his locally made firearm.

The exact number of abducted individuals remains unconfirmed. This incident followed a separate attack on Kebbe town earlier in the week, raising concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the local government area.

Affected communities have urged authorities to enhance security deployments and conduct sustained operations to prevent further violence and theft.
