Troops Rescue Kidnap Victim, Recover 126 Livestock in Katsina

Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued a kidnap victim and recovered 126 rustled livestock in Katsina State. The military, through a statement by Lt.

Col. Aliyu Danja, reported that on July 26, troops responded to a distress call regarding terrorist activities in Karkata Village, Charanchi Local Government Area.

During a gun battle, the troops forced the terrorists to abandon their captive, who was rescued unharmed and reunited with her family. In a separate operation, troops collaborated with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to conduct raids in Wagin, Tundu Mobi, and Chadawaki communities, resulting in arrests and the recovery of a locally fabricated firearm.

Additionally, troops ambushed suspected terrorists at Yankwani Village in Bakori Local Government Area, leading to the recovery of 126 livestock, which were handed over to local officials for identification and return to their owners. The Theatre Commander praised the troops for their bravery and assured continued military operations against terrorism in the region.
