Ramaphosa to Visit Botswana for Bi-National Commission

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to visit Botswana on Wednesday for the 6th session of the South Africa-Botswana Bi-National Commission (BNC). This high-level meeting aims to guide cooperation between the two neighboring countries across various sectors, including agriculture, energy, health, education, transport, mining, and security.

During his visit, Ramaphosa will host Botswana's President Duma Boko, with expectations to review progress in these sectors. Additionally, Ramaphosa will tour the Botswana Vaccine Institute to assess joint efforts in combating animal diseases, specifically foot-and-mouth disease.

The two presidents will also address the Botswana-South Africa Business Forum, where private sector leaders will explore new investment opportunities to deepen commercial partnerships. South Africa remains Botswana's largest trade partner, and the two governments collaborate closely on cross-border security and regional industrialization.

The last BNC in 2022 resulted in agreements to tackle trade barriers and accelerate joint industrial projects.
