Oyo State Students and Teachers Rescued After 56 Days

Speaker Tajudeen Abba commended the successful rescue of 39 students and seven teachers kidnapped from schools in Oyo State, describing their safe return as a significant relief for the nation. The operation, which lasted 56 days, involved collaboration between federal and state security forces, including the military and local vigilante groups.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was recognized for his leadership during this crisis. The Christian Association of Nigeria, led by Archbishop Daniel Okoh, expressed gratitude for the safe return of the victims and urged the government to continue efforts to secure the freedom of all Nigerians held by kidnappers.

The incident, which included the tragic death of a teacher during the kidnapping, underscores the ongoing threat of terrorism in Nigeria, particularly against educational institutions.
