Akwa Ibom Sports Commissioner Celebrates Table Tennis Medals

On Tuesday, Elder Paul Bassey, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports in Akwa Ibom State, acknowledged the achievements of table tennis players Ofonime Moses Edoama and Bright Aniekan Bassey, who won silver and bronze medals, respectively, at the 6th edition of the Offiong Edem Table Tennis Foundation Championship held at the U J Esuene Stadium in Calabar. Bassey expressed his gratitude to the athletes for their hard work and dedication, which led to their podium finishes.

He commended the contributions of various sports to the state's pride and recognized the efforts of the State Table Tennis Coach, Sir Aniefiok Alexander. Bassey also appreciated the support of the state Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, in promoting sports at both state and international levels.

He reflected on the positive changes in the sports sector since his appointment, noting a shift from football dominance to a more diverse sports environment.
