Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu on Insecurity and Economy

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration for its management of insecurity and economic challenges in Nigeria. In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku condemned recent remarks by Tinubu suggesting that citizens were ignoring police warnings about travel at night.

He argued that the government should not place the burden of security on citizens, as it is the primary duty of the government to protect lives and property. Atiku highlighted the alarming rise in kidnappings and bandit attacks across various states, including Benue, Plateau, Zamfara, Katsina, and Niger.

He stated that the current economic conditions, characterized by rising food prices and unemployment, have left many families struggling to survive. Atiku warned that the government risks losing credibility by focusing on managing narratives instead of addressing the underlying issues affecting Nigerians.
